Lindsay Eidahl

At Floor Coverings International Arch City we love bringing you creative insights, perspectives, and a bit of personal history from interior designers and DIY bloggers. Today we are very excited to be sharing an interview with Lindsay of My Creative Days, an eclectic blog covering home décor, crafts, cooking, and DIY projects.

Please tell us a little about yourself.

Hello! My name is Lindsay. I write the blog I love to be creative in my day, my home and with my kids. I am obsessed with old wood, rusty treasures and everything in between. Finding frugal and creative ways to cook great foods, decorate our home, create a fabulous craft, or do an activity with the kids is a passion of mine. We live in a small, split foyer home. I am a firm believer that you can have pretty pieces and fantastic spaces around you without breaking the bank. I decorate our home with found treasures, rusty gold and repurposed items. I think that with a little bit of creativity and a lot of elbow grease, your design dreams can become a reality!

Why did you decide to start a blog? What do you enjoy about blogging?

I started my blog a couple of years ago to share my creative and frugal ways to decorate and create a home you love. My frugal decorating started out of necessity, but I quickly fell in the love with the process of finding forgotten pieces and repurposing them or making them over to fit my style. My biggest influence in starting My Creative Days was my family and friends. They had been telling me for years to start getting my ideas out there and I finally took the plunge and started my blog. My blog has been a great place to share my DIY ideas.

How would you describe your design style?

Our home is filled with found treasures, repurposed pieces and farmhouse goodness. All of the eclectic pieces come together to make our home cozy, welcoming, and full of charm.

Where do you find most of your inspiration?

EVERYWHERE! I find a ton of inspiration in my favorite magazines and HGTV shows, but I can be inspired in a store, an old building, or just by something I see at a yard sale that has tons of potential.

Tell us about a recent project you’re proud of.

I would have to say our most recent project that I am most proud of is our kitchen makeover. It doesn’t even look like the same space! You can read all about it here:
